What to expect

The swing parks near Ubud, such as in Bongkasa and around Tegallalang, are built on the edge of deep valleys. Ernest takes you to a park he trusts.

The big swings
Swings of different heights hang over the valley. You sit in a harness, staff push you off, and for a moment you fly over the treetops.
Photo spots
Giant bird nests, heart-shaped frames and platforms over the jungle, made for photos.
The view
Palm trees, the river far below and, on a clear day, the volcanoes on the horizon.
Close to Tegallalang
The famous rice terraces are nearby, so the swing combines well with a walk there or with the ATV ride.

Tips for the swing

Go early. In the morning it is cooler and quieter. From late morning, the queues for the biggest swings get longer.
Wear the right shoes. You climb steps and ladders, so leave the flip-flops in the car.
Check your harness. Staff fasten it for you; ask them to check it again if you are not sure.
Bring a change of clothes if you plan to combine the swing with the ATV or rafting.
